About KCRL

The Kentucky Coalition for Responsible Lending (KCRL) is a state-wide organization, formed in 2009, committed to protecting family assets by eliminating abusive financial practices. KCRL is composed of member groups including housing groups, asset-building coalitions, faith-based organizations, social change groups, and organizations working with seniors and youth. These organizations represent hundreds of thousands of Kentuckians at the state, regional, and local levels.

This diverse collection of partners has the common goal of protecting those who might be taken advantage of while working to make people financially independent. KCRL has worked on legislation that would eliminate the payday lending debt trap while ensuring that affordable options are available for Kentucky families who need short-term assistance.

Organizations are invited to join KCRL and take action to close the PayDay Lending Trap for Kentucky consumers.
